Dr. Krista Simonson
I live in Shubenacadie with my husband Kyle H, our infant daughter Anna, two collies Cody and Remy, our cat Titus and a horse named Red. I had dreamed of someday becoming a veterinarian since before I can remember. My parents and family have always supported my love for animals and helped me shelter and care for abandoned baby birds, injured wildlife, orphaned puppies and even an orphaned baby raccoon. My family’s support is what fueled my drive to finally pursue veterinary medicine. I graduated from Atlantic Veterinary College in 2017. The area of veterinary medicine that interests me the most is preventative medicine, dentistry, behaviour and emergency and critical care medicine. The part of my job that I love the most is building relationships and communicating with clients. My heart melts for puppies, corgis, and senior dogs. A fun fact about myself is that I recently started taking an adult ballet class. I’ve always loved the art of dance but never got into it as a young girl. Thirty-five years old is as good of age as any to become a ballerina! I also enjoy the expedition and white water kayaking with my husband.
