Sara Boyd

Since I was a child, I have had an innate love and fascination with the natural world. Growing up in southern Ontario, I spent a lot of time outdoors surrounding myself with nature. I graduated from the University of Guelph with honours in Zoology and a minor in Fine Arts in 2015. After graduating, I married the love of my life and we drove to Vancouver Island with our cat, Marco. During my time on the west coast, I completed a Wildlife Rehabilitation Practicum at the Wild Animal Rehabilitation Centre in Victoria, B.C. It not only gave me excellent hands-on experience with a variety of species but also opened my eyes to the effects we have on wildlife. I believe we all need to do our part to move towards environmental stewardship and this is something that guides my work at the Halifax Veterinary Hospital. I love that my coworkers put their all in ensuring the highest care possible for our patients and every day I strive to provide that excellent care as well.
