Dog Emergency Vet

In an emergency, we encourage all of our clients to call us if the situation occurs during regular hospital hours. At the minimum, we can field questions for you and help determine the urgency of the situation. If an emergency occurs out of regular hospital hours, please call the Metro Animal Emergency Clinic at 902-468-0674.

Where is your hospital located?


We are located at 6485 Quinpool Road.

Are you a 24-hour veterinary hospital?


No, we are not. We are open weekdays from 7:30am – 8:00pm and Saturdays from 8:00am – 2:00pm. Appointments begin at 9:00 am on all days that we are open.

Most cats have 18 toes; five toes on each of their front feet, and four on the back.  My cat, Mandy Pawtinkin, is blessed with 22 toes.  She has a congenital physical anomaly called polydactyly (Greek for ‘many digits’).  It is a genetic mutation that causes cats to be born with more than the usual number of toes on one or more of its paws.
